Forward to New URL WITHOUT HTTP redirect- and return on same path.

Hello, I'm cutting over services from my Colo-hosted rack to AWS. I cannot use HTTP Redirect, since the client isn't a browser. The order should be Client->F5->ELB->{server}, and the return traffic MUST follow the same path.

I know that this function (or the ability to place a FQDN into the pool, which would serve the same function) is available in the 11.6 codebase, but I'm runnin 10.2.1.

Any help?

Thanks, TMK-Viz

  • I could be wrong but as long as the client handles HTTP, it should be able to handle the redirects. Have you tried this before and did the client not respond properly ?

You can lower the TTL and change DNS to point to the new ELB or possibly use Route53 to send traffic to both F5 and ELB at the same time and slowly cut over.
