SFTP - Best Practice

I am trying to move a secure FTP server (IPSwitch MOVEit DMZ) behind my load balancers so I can take advantage of using the wildcard SSL cert. I have no issue with the web side (port 443 offloading to port 80) but I cannot get the SFTP to offload to FTP. Is there a best practice or recommendation on this? Is it better to just do SFTP to SFTP?
