F5 Edge Client on iOS/Android cannot work on mobile App

I've an issue with F5 VPN client as below:

I've a mobile application (native app) that running on iOS/Android. This application need to connect a back-end service and this service required a VPN connection by F5 Edge client.

I've already installed these 2 clients tool on AppStore: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.f5.edge.client_ics, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/f5-big-ip-edge-client/id411062210?mt=8

When I've connected VPN by the client tool above, I can connect back-end service API by web browser only on devices, but I cannot connect API through my mobile application (issue happen the same on iOS and Android)

How I need to do for resolving my issue?

Thanks & Regards, Minh

  • haven't experienced this specific case, but as you have a LTM in between have you checked everything is fine there? both on the cert section (something that explain the sudden issue) and looking with tcpdump what exactly happens? i admit the fact that the the firepass log shows a successful connection doesnt point to it being the LTM, but it might be a good point to start digging.

  • You need to check your mobile application uses the mobile's default network stack to access the back end service. If it does not then it wont see the route changes implemented by the F5 Access application when the VPN is established.
