SSL VPN for Non Domain Joined Computers

I have SSLVPN up and running on APM and have it working well for domain joined windows computers. However when I run the same VPN via edge client on a non-domain joined PC I get errors (DNS?) and logon prompts when accessing corporate filestore and some other resources.

 

The reason that I'm trying to use a non domain joined device is that logon times are very slow if the device is off the corporate network and yet to be connected to the VPN.

 

Is there a way of making the device appear to have access to domain resources (or even appear to be on a domain joined device) whilst connected to the VPN and then once it's disconnected it works as a standalone.
