Unable to view web pages via virtual server IP.

I am running a virtual instance of F5 (12.x) in VMware and I am having trouble using the virtual servers IP address to view the web servers I have set up. I am following a lab from CBT Nuggets and I have double checked everything and still I am not getting the address to respond in a browser. I can ping the address from the appliance I can open port 80 via a telnet session, but I cannot see the servers come up in a browser. I can pull up all the webservers via their regular addresses no problem. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

  • Check the Health monitor, and

1)SNAT should be enable and when you enable and make sure servers can reach to that SNAT'd self IP

    2) If snat is not enabled then make sure your pool members has SELF-IP as default gateway.

SNAT: host 1.2.3.4 makes req and the traffic if not SNAT'd your pool member will try to send reply traffic to 1.2.3.4 and that t return traffic might take different route and never reach F5. So if SNAT is disabled you need to keep F5 self IP as Default gateway

Thanks, that worked! The servers had the wrong gateway configured.
