Make standby unit active

Hi, I have F5 LTMs (2000s) in my production environment. Due to some reason i want to make the standby unit active. Kindly guide me what are the proper ways to do that. Is there any impact on the production traffic.

Kindly response. thanks.

  • Switching the active device will drop any active APM sessions and some non APM connections that are sensitive to packet loss (Citrix depending on your configuration).

I would start by opening each device in your browser. On your active device go to Device Management >> Devices and select the active device. Then, select Force to Standby. It will take a second or two and the status in the upper left corner should show Standby. Your other device should now show Active.
