MSS : Maximum Segment Size

Hi guys, I have a question. I know for a fact that MSS is advertised to each other between a client and a server during handshake.But will a difference in advertising values cause a reset ?

 

Say for example : Client will advertise with MSS 1322 and Server will send a SYN+ACK with MSS 1460.

 

Does this cause any issue ? because I'm getting a SYN+ACK back and I don't see an issue here as MSS is not "negotiated" but only advertised.

    This is the normal traffic. Generally both side send MSS 1460 in SYN packets. But some factors effect the size of MSS. Like VPN. If there is a VPN tunnel, then the MSS size gets lower.
