External SNMP Monitoring Differences/Issues Between Version 11 & 12

Between version 11 and 12, it appears that F5 has used the same OID values for calculating and monitoring various system metrics, but changed the data type from Counter64 to Gauge32. How is one to monitor both versions if the MIB file changed like this and continue to use the same OID values? Appreciate the feedback if anyone else has seen this. Thanks!

SAMPLE OID: sysMultiHostCpuSystem5m - 1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.7.5.2.1.30 SAMPLE VERIFY ON DEVICE: snmpwalk -v 2c -c COMMUNITYSTRING localhost 1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.1.7.5.2.1.30

  • If you need assistance on this matter after upgrading a device to version 12, and need to monitor via SNMP devices running both version 11 and 12, please have F5 Support look at Bug ID 675298 to assist you accordingly with a EHF.
