Controlling VIP Monitor Status by monitoring two nodes/pool member

Hi All

I am looking for a solution for my RAS Solution for my project. MY Question is I want the Virtal Server status is remain up when monitoring for two Node/pool member are up.

Pulse where the website exist have external and internal interface. I want that VIP created for RAS website who load balancing traffic to pool external IP of Pulse. But status of VIP is Up only when both interface (external and internal) are up.I will create separte pool /node to monitor the status of internal interface of Pulse via LTM where the website hosted.

This is required because If I loose the network connectivity of Pulse internal interface that VIP remain up as pool member have only external interface IP and its will keep sending the traffic to External interface of Pulse .

Can you please suggest some irule solution or via some other way ?

Thanks

    Ashish Sharm,

I wonder if this will help. In the External Interface pool, which you have assigned to your VIP, I assume you have a health monitor attached. You could create a new Monitor (whatever type e.g. TCP) and configure the Alias Address/Port to match an Internal Interface IP/Port. You assign this monitor to the External Interface Pool but it won't monitor the pool members, rather the alias address instead. In the pool configuration you then select Availability Requirement to All. This means if the new monitor fails i.e. the internal interface is down, then it will mark the External Interface pool members as being down too. So they are now both linked.

    Hope this helps,
