APM Session/Per-Request Macro Limit

Hello guys,

I was wondering if anyone knows the limit of Macros you can create in a single APM policy (Request Or Per-Request), i could not found this information in Datasheets or Documentations. I need find if this exists because i have one particular host that have over 200 Applications, and because of my client request i have to create a Macro with Auth/Autorization for each appliacation, so i would have to create over 200 macros. Is this possible or there is a limit in BIG-IP APM?

Att,

  • Hello Hugo,

I searched a litle bit and also didn't find any communication about this.

I don't think that F5 has documented the limit of Macros or more generally the maximum number of "Items" you can have within an APM policy.

I think you can open a case to F5 support to get this information.

But if you have 200 applications why don't you make X number of generic APM policies and apply them to group of applications.

You can create these "generic APM policies" based on some similarities between applications.

For example if you have 50 applications over the 200 that need "Two factor authentication" you can create an APM policy with "apm-twofactor" and assign it to the 50 VSs, and so on...

I think this will simply you configuration.

    Good luck
