GTM Synchronization Groups

Hey guys, I'm studying for my 302 GTM CTS and here is a bit from my notes. I just wanted to verify that I have my information below correct. If there is anything I am missing please help me better my notes in preparation! :)

 

On existing GTM make sure you have synchronization enabled with the same group name first, make sure on this existing GTM you have created the datacenter and added the new GTM to the serverlist with autodiscovery enabled. Once this has been completed you can run gtm_add on the new GTM device to sync the existing parameters over.

 

Pulled from F5 SOL Article - "Synchronization parameters must be properly defined for all members Synchronization must be enabled and each device must have the same synchronization group name."

    You might want to take a look at the Certification Study Guide.

     

    Other steps/issues that come to mind include:

     

    - ensure TCP/4353 and TCP/22 are open between the two GTM/DNS systems

     

    - ensure the two systems are running the same version of TMOS

     

    - make sure each device has a valid system certificate.
