Big-IP DNS redundancy

I'd just like to confirm the purpose of DNS redundancy (gtm_add script) is intended to be used within a single data centre as I've noticed listeners are sync'd too. For different data centres the configuration is maintained independently?

  • gtm_add is to be used to add a new GTM/DNS to a sync group, sync group are normally used between datacenters.

     

    As listeners are basically LTM virtual servers to handle DNS traffic, and they are different between datacenters, makes no sense to sync them when using the gtm_add. Maybe the sync is been done by the LTM config sync.
