BIG-IP i2800 10 Gbps connections through 40Gbps ports

Hello all

I am making a sizing following the following requirements: - There is need to have 8x 1Gbps RJ-45 ports - There is need to have 2x 10Gbps fiber ports

According to the rest of the requirements, the device to be considered will be the BIG-IP i5800... this device brings 8 ports, which can be Cu or fiber. With these 8 ports I will be covered on the first requirement listed above.

For the second requirement I am planning to use a breakout cable, but looking in the pricelist I find these two options:

  • Description: VIPRION & BIG-IP QSFP+ to 4 x LC Duplex Breakout Cable (3 m) (SKU: F5-UPG-QSFP+AOC3M)

  • Description:VIPRION & BIG-IP QSFP+ to 4 x SFP+ Optical Breakout Cable (2-pack, 3 m)(SKU: F5-UPG-QSFP+-3M-2+)

Both models come in different sizes, but I am concerned on which to use in this case, most of all because of the types of connectors they have... I am not sure if I will need also a transceiver on the side of the 40Gbps or transceivers on the 10Gbps sides for either both models...

I had already checked on: https://support.f5.com/content/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/f5-plat-accessories/_jcr_content/pdfAttach/download/file.res/F5_Platforms__Accessories.pdf , but as it still leaves me with some doubts... specially on the transceivers' matter... could anybody help me with this please?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!
