HA recommended best practices

Dear All,

Is there any recommended best practices for HA, * My HA devices are spread across two Datacenters * My HA VLAN will pass through the network * I have two ports per F5 box to connect to the network. I would like to use LACP with unicast IP for failover process. Is there any benefit in using one port only for HA, the second port for data traffic compared with the LACP I would also like to know if it beneficial to use gateway fail safe in this scenario Regards Nikhil

  • I would suggest building your logical topology on trunk(LACP) because it will cover port resiliency and also gives aggregated bandwidth, preferably to different switch stack members or VPC across multiple Nexus depends on your switching infrastructure.

HA config really depends on your fail over requirements but I would use non routable VLAN dedicated for config sync then use gateway fail safe to monitor very highly available IP target.
