How to maintain user session in F5 LTM

Hi Expert

Is there a way in F5 LTM to main user session for web portal? Basically I have 3 IIS node in my pool. I want to maintain user session when get redirect to new member in the pool. Currently I'm using Source ip address as sticky persistence but somehow my users need to re-login when F5 redirect to different node in the pool when initial node the user connected is down. I would like to maintain user session although it get redirect to new member in pool. I don't want my users to re-login into the portal.

Any advice or guide highly appreciate.

  • Maybe some more details about how you are authenticating would help.

I am thinking that your clients are logged onto a server, not the F5, so if they go to another server, they are not logged in, because that server is unaware of the previous authorization. I know deploying SSO with tokens will work because the browser will auto login no matter the server, but unless the auth is happening at the F5, you are most likely going to need a solution that makes your servers aware.

    Hope that helps.

  • Try configure cookie persistence with always send cookie option.

    Thx
