Pool Issue in F5 LTM

Hi,

 

I have 2 VE LTMs configured with Sync-Failover.

 

In the Active LTM, the default gateway pool is up whereas in the Standby LTM it is in unknown state.

 

I tried disabling and enabling back the pool members, but no use.

 

The pool is configured with gateway_icmp monitor.

 

Also when i ping the gateway pool members from the Standby LTM, they all are pinging.

 

I don't know what else to look into.

 

Kindly assist.

    Hello,

     

    Are you sure that the monitor is applied to the pool on the standby device?

    I have seen issues like this before due to routes from the switches/routes setup to forward via an IP forwarding Virtual Server which allows the F5 active member monitors to work fine but standby monitors to fail or enter an unknown state.

     

    You able to change the monitor to something more application specific? Even if only to a TCP or TCP Half Open monitor.

     

    Also you able to share some more information about the network setup between the F5 and the backend servers?
