Renaming Security Policy on ASM

Hi everyone,

I have one question about ASM. Can we rename security policy that is duplicated from existing policy?

If can, How can we rename the new security policy? I hope i get some insight.

Regards, Ricky Paulus Ginting

  • A policy can be exported in XML format and the name can be changed by editing the file with a text editor before re-importing it. The element to look for is . Be sure to include the path such as /Common/ as well. I hope this helps.

  • Hi,

with ver 13.1.x you can copy a policy and give it a new name.

Security ›› Application Security : Security Policies : Policies List

select the policy and then in the menu upper right you will see following options :create new policy, copy policy, import policy.

Select copy policy and under "Policy name" you can specify the name you want

Hope that it will work for you.

  • Not sure with 12.1.2, but you can export and import it again with a different name.

Export the current policy in XML format.

    Then rename the file name.

Edit the xml file and change manually the policy name (see below xml snippet)

Import the new policy (in xml format)

Edit the policy_name as per below example:

    2018-03-12T09:06:22Z

    f5.my.local

    /Common/asm_policy_name

    ........
