Provisioning resources for BigIP Virtual Edition

Hello friends,

I would like to know if there is a requirement calculator for BigIP Virtual Edition based on the modules that are enabled. For example, if I have a 3Gbps license throughout with LTM and ASM enabled, how much resources do I have to allocate to the virtual machine according to the official documentation ?

Thanks for the tip, but I had already taken a look at this documentation. What I did not find clear is what recommendations depending on the provisioned resource. For example :

An LTM with LTM only can not have the same requirements as one with LTM, ASM and DNS enabled.

I figured there was a kind of calculator or a table to scale the virtual machine depending on the active modules.

For every module provisioned on BIG-IP, there is a minimum RAM and Storage allocated for it to run successfully. This is could increase based on the load of each module provisioned. So my point and answer to your question is, it varies per environment. That's why some of these go into the process of capacity planning. * Number of i-rules * ASM Policy for HTTP/XML * Active connections * New connections / sec (Client) * Throughput (bits)Client Throughput (bits)Server * Throughput (packets) * HTTP requests SSL trans/sec * Average Packet Size

      Cheers

Thanks for the reply eben, and I understand that there are many variables that will determine how much of the resource will be used in a project, but reference a sample situation below:

Let's say I'm answering a customer questioning how much he needs to book in his virtualization environment for a solution with three VEs: LTM, another LTM + ASM, and one with LTM + ASM + DNS. Of course, it will ask for a recommendation for CPU, Memory, and Storage before releasing your environment for installation.

I have not yet clearly found out whether there is such an answer for such cases.

I do not know if I'm confused, but that would be my question.
