Topology Load Balance

Hi All,

  1. I have a wide-ip xxx.iglb.intel.com.
  2. It has 1 pool, pool name: xxx
  3. The pool xxx has 4 end servers (2 servers in Penang and other 2 in Santa Clara).
  4. Load Balancing method being used on the pool xxx is Topology.

Question: How the load would be balanced within the 2 servers in Penang and other 2 in Santa Clara internally. Does the order number matters here?

Thanks for the help. Regards, Ayush

  • Hi,

Do you have an alternate load balancing method configured on your pool? Load balancing is based on static and dymanic options and server or path metrics. For both servers in Penang these are the same. Also for Santa Clara.

What are the statistics telling you? Is one server having more connection than the other one in the same datacenter?

Why don't you configure two pools? One for the Penang servers and one for the Santa Clara servers Configure the load balancing method on the wide IP as Topology and within the pools as Round Robin.

    Regards, Martijn.
