Load Balance Testing Data/Monitoring

Our team is going to be running some load balance testing on a particular VIP. In order to get the most information possible for our teams, are there any suggestions or recommendations on how to capture performance data? Most of the time when monitoring activity I manually monitor the statistics page for the individual nodes or VIP. But it would be nice to have some data we can review after the tests are completed if needed.

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Steve Eason, I would like to suggest you to setup HTTP Analytics Profile. You can investigate Server Latency Issues, Page Load Times, and much more.

you can look at DevCentral - https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_analytics/manuals/product/analytics-implementations-12-1-0/1.htmlconceptid

In the HTTP Analytics profile, you can customize:

    • What statistics to collect
    • Where to collect data (locally, remotely, or both)
    • Whether to capture the traffic itself
    • Whether to send notifications

Also, you can collect the next sections:

    • Top virtual servers by average transactions per second
    • Top URLs
    • Top pool members by average transactions per second
    • Top client subnets by average transactions per second
    • Top response codes
    • Top countries

    Hope it helped, Shiran.
