Choosing the correct version to upgrade to can be quite difficult. This is because it is dependent if you are looking into adding features only available in the major version (11.x, 12.x, 13.x etc). If you are only upgrading for security and stability reasons, you could stay within the same major version.
However, since you are running 11.x you should consider jumping to 12.x or 13.x. 12.x has been out for quite a long time now and is considered to be really stable. 13.x has matured as well. You can upgrade to these versions straight from 11.x.
The official recommendation from F5 is to upgrade to the latest long-term stability release. And these are:
- 14.0.x
- 13.1.x
- 12.1.x
- 11.6.x
- 11.5.x
Please refer to the following link:
K5903: BIG-IP software support policy
So in your case it would be one of these:
- 11.6.3.2
- 12.1.3.6
- 13.1.1
To learn more about upgrading your BIG-IP I suggest you check out this series on DevCentral

Please Note that choosing the correct version will be your own decision and I cannot take responsibility if something happens after the upgrade. You might introduce a bug which affects your setup and thus, you need to carefully review your setup against the Known Issus of the version you are choosing.

Hi,
First of you have to check the F5 hardware/software compatibility matrix:
https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K9476
So you ca noticed that you can upgrade to the latest version which is v14. what I don t advise you for now because it is quite recent, unless you want to do the OIDC on your authorization server :-).
So let's Upgrade to last version for v13 (13.1.1).
Second point check release notes: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/releasenotes/product/relnote-bigip-ve-13-1-1.htmlrns_upgrade
it will help you to know differents steps to upgrade to version 13.1.1 (if you have intermediate steps). I checked release notes and you can direct upgrade from 11.6 to 13.1.1.
Last point during your upgrade please follow differente steps describes in this article:
