BigIQ Replacement?

We had EM and have tried to run Big-IQ in a large, distributed enterprise, and it continues to disappoint for multiple reasons. Hearing 6.1 is coming out but we have no confidence this will fix out issues.

 

So is there any other vendor tools that manage F5s? We would be looking for a replacement tool that can do the basics like backups, role-based access to enable/disable nodes, pools, or virtual servers.

 

Seems like a big opportunity for a 3rd party to build an enterprise-ready product that doesn't give us the same issues BigIQ does today. This is not to bash LTM and a great product but the management systems are very lacking.

    Given current industry direction, it'd be hard to argue against doing all this via Ansible. Especially with the work F5 does to work with it.

    That is the direction we are moving to. While detailed configuration modules for Ansible are still a bit thin in functionality, stuff like backups and pool manipulation is pretty solid.
