Work around for CMP Hash limitation with BIG IP 4000/2000

Hello, I am working with an LTM version 11.5.1. I am dealing with a limitation explained here https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K50261325 I am worried we are not preserving the source port and I am looking for another configuration that will work for us. The VS is configured to preserve the source port and the VLAN is using the default CMP Hash configuration. First I know that we should be able to use "Preserver Strict" with a default CMP Hash setting with a performance hit. Is there another option to use Round Robin DAG and configure the port we are using? Would this drop the hash algorithm used with CMP Hash and and therefore work around the fact that our version is not able to use it?

  • What I really need to know is if I enable Round Robin DAG does CMP Hash still get applied, effectively dropping the preserved port. Or since it is now doing a round robin does the hash get disabled which will give a better chance of preserving the port?
