bigip version and win terminal servers load balance query

Afternoon all,

I've been asked to look into the possibility of load balancing a group of Windows Server 2003 terminal servers using our big-ip ltms. Although if I'm honest I sort of planted the seed myself.....I'm sure I'm not the first person to say "I think our f5s can do this for us" without thinking of the increased workload.

Anyway, looking at the deployment guide it seems straight forward enough but in the Prerequisites And Configuration Notes bit it mentions the ltm system must be running v9.1 or later (and preferably v9.2). I hope you're all sitting down - we're on v9.0.5. I can't see anything from the guide though that is particular to v9.1 and above. Can anyone advise on whether it's a non-starter with my version?

Secondly, the Windows server team inform me that they haven't currently got a Session Directory server (although they may install one). Again, it's a pre-req but I'm not sure it's a show stopper.

Any help greatly appreciated as always.
