License vs upgrade question

Hi,

I have a HA active/passive cluster of BIG-IP 9.4.5. As you can see the soft version is pretty old. Actually, it is in EOSD period so i would like to upgrade them to the newest one (the chassis is still supported).

The problem is that i need to reactivate the license prior to the upgrade in order to get the new version working and i don't know if the reactivation process is for free or not.

Also, i don't know if i have to buy a new license or, simply, i have to reactivate the one we already have.

I've asked those questions to F5 support but they can't help me as they aren't technically and my commercial seems to be disappeared (:p) so i turn to the community with the hope that you can help me!! :D

(Not to mention that I don't want to experiment with the reactivation process because the load balancers are in a production environment..)

Thank you very much in advance!!

I've asked those questions to F5 support but they can't help me as they aren't technically you did open a case, didn't you? if so, they should be able to assist you. they are quite helpful. even no active support contract, you can have one-free standard support case for each unit serial number.

    hope this helps.
