upgrading LTM 10.2 to 11.2. No Objects found in Network Map

Hi all,

This is my first time attempting to upgrade the version of our LTM. We currently run 10.2 on 2 of 3 partitions. I have installed 11.2 on partition 3 with no apparent issues. However, when I activate that partition I get a provioning message which I can get around by re-activating the license. No problem, but I cannot figure out how to get the config back.

I've followed various steps online including:

http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/11000/300/sol11318.htmlrestore_bigpipe

http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/100/sol13132.html

This is the output from running: load /sys ucs /var/local/ucs/PRE-11_2-BACKUP.ucs

  • Hi Anthony,

I'd boot back to the 10.2.x partition, re-activate the license, delete the non-working 11.x partition and upgrade to the blank slot. It's a requirement to re-activate the license before upgrading.

No problem, but I cannot figure out how to get the config back.i understand v10 configuration is in /config/bigpipe directory. to convert v10 to v11 configuration, you may try "/usr/libexec/bigpipe daol" command. if there is any error, you have to fix it one by one.

or you may restore v10 ucs again. since you already re-activated license, you may use "no-license" option when resstoring.

    root@(ve11a)(cfg-sync Changes Pending)(Active)(/Common)(tmos) load sys ucs config.ucs no-license

  • Thanks both, I will give those options a go and report back with my outcome.
