LTM upgrade to v11 from v10
currently the v10 is installed on partitions but believe this not supported on v11 and need volumes. any recommendations between clean install or convert within v10 first?

if you do not want 10.x anymore, i think clean installation is good to go.
sol15459: BIG-IP systems that use partition disk style cannot be upgraded to versions 11.0.0 or later

thanks - no plan to return to 10 need to get ltms and gtms on to 11.
yes read that KB - but came across the below - but still think clean is better:-
Partitions caused the subsequent upgrade from 10.2.4 to 11.3.0 to fail. I believe v11 is volume-only. It could neither install on partition nor convert the existing partition to volume. Upgrade fails instantly, both via the web interface and using image2disk –format=volumes.
SOLUTION: Using image2disk, I applied the 10.2.4 iso image overtop of the existing 10.2.4 install. image2disk –format=volumes BIGIP-10.2.4.577.0.iso This converted disk config from partitions to volumes. Once that conversion completed, then the upgrade to 11.3.0 worked automagically via the web interface.
