APM - SharePoint through portal access (Internal and External links)

Hi,

Our users are connecting to our SharePoint through F5 APM (Portal Access);

Within the SharePoint site, there are many links with an internal resolvable resource and F5 maps it back to the internal link. This works fine.

The issue is with an external Internet links. When the users click on these externally resolvable links, within F5, they get a “page cannot be found” error. These sites are available on the Internet.

A webtop for each link is not an option, because there are so many of them.

How do I get around this issue? How do I make these externally resolvable links available to our users connecting to F5? Any example would be appreciated.

  • Hi Sergio,

    You have to manage your problem trough your rewrite profile. Let me explain:

    You can enable split tunneling for portal access connections. When you select Split Tunneling from the list. Split tunneling provides two options to access your web page: Rewrite and Bypass.

    If you enable split tunneling, APM presents only web pages that satisfy one of these filters. Others are blocked (although a blocked public site may still be available outside the webtop). So in this case you have to know/manage all Public Link.

    Do you have the mastery of these public links?
