I am looking for a script to look for unused objects in the LTM (i.e empty pools, servers that have been down for 30 days, etc...) Does any one know if this already exists before I try to write one from scratch?
You may be able to get some help from the BIG-IP iHealth diagnostic tool (https:/). It can help you identify a lot of unassigned configuration objects, such as HTTP classes, iRules, monitors, nodes, policies, pools, and SNAT pools. You can also use it to view all unavailable (due to monitor) or disabled pools (or virtual servers). If you run iHealth diagnostics once a month (recommended), and use the iHealth comparison feature, over time you should be able to determine if you have servers that have been down for a period of time.
