GTM Running as Authoritative and Forward zone in the same VS

hi all,

 

i plan to deploy GTM as a DNS for our server farm.

 

my goal is GTM can be an authoritative server and forwarder at the same time using 1 VS.

 

my scenario is when server farm query server1.local.com then GTM will reply with private IP which we already configured under zone runner and when server farm updates repo with query domain ubuntu.com, GTM will forward that query to 8.8.8.8

 

at this time, I can only run one of these functions (authoritative pr forwarder) in 1 VS.

 

is it possible GTM configured as above requirement?

    Hi there,

     

    I have the similar issue. In the named conf I enabled forwarder and in the zone runner I have records which I "transfer by server" and modified to my needs. Also I configured wide IP and Pools and servers under GSLB.

     

    So BIG IP FIRST look in the configured wide IP and if there is no records there it forward queries. So my question is why it doesn't look under DNS runner records before it forward queries?
