  • In your case, replace . is equivalent . "wip" is wide IP subdomain. Some people use F5 or GSLB instead as subdomain to denote that F5 GTM/DNS is revolving names.

    is called the zone apex (where the name is the same as the zone). A zone apex cannot be a
    CNAME
    - that is a limitation of DNS.

    Therefore you cannot use the K277 method, as that describes delegating some other zone to the GTM (called

    wip
    ) and pointing
    CNAME
    records at it.

    If you need

    company.com
    to be a Wide IP, your GTMs must be authoritative for that zone so that it can answer queries for
    company.com
    directly.
