Big-IP LTM VE 11.3.0 HA Showing Devices Disconnected

Hello All,

I'm using the Big-IP LTM VE 11.3.0 (Trial License) in Lab environment running over VMWare Workstation. I have been able to get the devices up and running, however, when I configure the HA, both device shows disconnected, while the Master device is showing as Active, and the Backup device showing as Standby. Both devices can reach each other (ICMP) on all interfaces including management.

How can I check the status of the HA and find the exact issue? What outputs do you need to assist in solving this?

I'm afraid this has been asked before on DC and whilst I can't fund an official line I don't believe HA is supported in the trial version.

  • Nathan may be correct, but your symptoms sound similar to what I had when I was trying to get my vCMP guests in an HA environment. To resolve the issue, I went into Device Management ›› Device Trust : Local Domain and then updated the trust by generating a new self signed authority. After that, I re-established the trust and everything worked.

Give it a try. If it doesn't work, you've only lost a little time.

Thank you Robert, I tried your way, it didn't work .. So I guess the Trial License doesn't support the ConfigSync :(

  • 11.3 VE does support HA. I have it running. The question above is whether it is supported on the trial license. If you are not running the trial license you likely have a device trust issue, assuming you have verified your connectivity between the virtual LTMs.

  • thanks for the response i did verify routing and I am able to ping between the different devices(LTM's).
