VMware View Client Auto Logon Does Not Work

Hi,

I am setting up a remote access via VMware Horizon View (PCoIP proxy), so I don't use a browser at all, only the View Client. For some reason the Auto Logon for my VMware Horizon View (5.4.0) does not work.

In Access Policy>>Application Access>>Remote Desktops I enabled auto logon and filled in the correct source variables.

But I am still getting the logon screen twice, first time I guess it comes from the F5, second time probably from the VMware connection server. So apparently, no auto logon occurs.

Is there anything I missed to configure on the F5? Or do I have to change some settings on the connection server?

Thanks

Hi Martin, Looks like you are trying to use the View Client feature "Logon as current user" which APM does not currently support. The "Auto Logon" selection in the remote desktop profile is for browser connections and is used to pass the credentials supplied at the logon page to the View servers.
  • Hi Greg, I am not sure we are talking about the same feature. The one I am trying to reproduce is described, for example, in this F5 video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLzd7k14MhY. Here the remote desktop resource get auto logon settings (time 3:40 in the video) and then the actual logon (6:13) works with only one set of credentials. In my case, I enter the credentials for the first time, then I get the popup to choose the desktop (as in 6:18), but when I choose the desktop I am requested to enter the credentials once again while in the video it is not required anymore. The guys in the video also do not use browser connection.
  • Martin,

Have you checked your session variables before clicking on the desktop ? Have a look on the domain variable. Autologon should work. Do you see any warning or log on the desktop side ?

Greg is talking about the auto logon on client side (by using windows session credentials). It's not your use case.
