When is LB_SELECTED triggered?

I am trying to to some debuggin, and want to log an event when a connection creates new persistence record in the LTM and when it follows through the persistence table.

 

 

Basically, I would like log a client's IP address and log it with markings of new persitence or existing persistence. One way I was thinking of doing is is potentially logging when LB_SELECTED event triggers, but I need to know exactly under what conditions LB_SELECTED is triggered(i.e. is it triggered only for new persistence connections, or both new and existing).
