GUI is showing sudden drop in active connection

Hi Experts,

I need to analyse my F5 traffic, The traffic was showing continuous around 100k active connection in GUI graph, but suddenly it drop from 100k to 10k. Not sure what is happening in F5,

If we say it can be due to less number of traffic we receiving, but its not new connection graph is showing same number of connection.

What logs required to check on this? Is it the case statsd process not properly showing the graphs?

Thanks,

Mayur

Same connection rate with a drop in active connections tells me that your total connection time is less. That could be faster responses. Or responses that are failing quicker than the successful ones used to (In the case of failures causing this)

But understood it could be because of faster response and it is because my DNS profile settings are configured udp_timeout-3s,

But how suddenly it 100k to 10k,

  • will be difficult to trouble shoot without know what exactly is having all those sessions and now less.

are users complaining about something? might be something which was wrong and now just works fine.

there isn't really a log or such which tracks things like that.

you can always have a F5 support have a look to check the graphs work fine, but beyond that you will have to dig deeper in the different virtual servers you have and know which one caused the larger amount in the past.
