i5800/Standalone/Upgrade to v15 says device is OFFLINE

As above, we upgraded system to version 15 from 14, after upgrade process device is fully operational and configs are also working, but the problem is that device state is "OFFLINE" and there is a notification "The configuration has no yet loaded. If the message persists, it may indicate a configuration problem", anyone experienced such a thing before? I would understand that "OFFLINE" if machine would not respond or configs were not loaded, but everything is working fine.

Cheers

  • It would look like the config did not load, You could attempt a manual load of the config via CLI and you should see the error via the Command Line. Also if you login via Active Directory and that does not work, that would be a clear indicator the config did not load properly. Check out what CLI says, determine the error and I would go from there.

Thanks for reply, afterwards we tried to manually import ucs via cli, that ended up fine but machine is still "offline" nothing changed. We tried to look for any errors, but there is nothing wrong with configuration, besides that, second machine that we upgraded in the same time, with the same config is working fine without "offline" error. Both machines are standalone. Any clue then? :(

  • I would grep for ltm logs between the primary and secondary to see if there is any indication of why the two won't come up online. Have you also tried rebooting the secondary that shows "offline" to see if it recovers? If the configs are loaded then it would appear a Synch issue between the two.

I am going to check logs now. As I stated above, there is no HA between two machines, both are standalone. We tried to do reboot, we tried to cut off power but the problem persists.

  • Can you run the command below and look service check date?

    tmsh load sys config verify

    grep "Service check date" bigip.license
