access to backend nodes

Hey guys, first post here. I have this problem on my dev environment:

WIN7 host ---> BIG-IP ----> LAMP backend with multiple nodes ranging from 10.1.20.10-20

WIN7 is used to configure BIG-IP with http GUI and it works fine. I also can access LAMP's 10.1.1.252 default web page, outputting "It works!".

BIG-IP has two self-IPs, ext 10.1.10.242 and int 10.1.20.241

Thera are occurences when I need to access VS of 10.1.10.20:80 from WIN7 as well as backend nodes GUIs. Doesn't work.

So what I need is some kind of tunnel going through big-ip, routing http traffic.

help noob for greater good!

  • Hi,

Usually this error kind is related to a service down by monitor or a non SNAT enabled when BIG-IP deployed as one-arm fashion (server don't have route back to BIG-IP and bypass it).

You may check if attached service is UP and/or VS have an "Source Address Translation" value set as "automap" or other than none?

Could you share your vs and pool setup here?

Sharing it can be more accurate on it solution.

    Regards.

Ok, so basically I deleted VS and pools, added them again with the same config, using "automap" on VS and now I am able to access VS by http.

    Thanks for the clue!
