Firefox 58.x/59.0 with the WebGUI is switching back to Common partition randomly

It is very likely that you just found a bug.

The BIG-IP Configuration Utility supports these browsers and versions:

 

Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.x

 

Mozilla Firefox v40, or later

 

Google Chrome v44, or later"

 

My suggestion for you is to open a support case, explaining how to replicate the behaviour.
