Health Monitor (Synthetic transaction)for Exchange2010

Hi ,

I have deployed MS Exchange 2010 and I am using BIG-IP LTM for doing the load balance on the Exchange servers. I want to have a synthetic health monitor which has a valid user id and password for an exchange account, it should login to the server to declare that the server is up or down. Has anyone deployed this type of health monitor for their exchange environment.

I will be really thankful for some support in this regard.

Hello Ryardis. Yes, that's correct. You should use the fully-qualified DNS name, and that name should also have been configured identically for your External URL for OWA using the Exchange Management Console (or Shell) on each Client Access Server.
  • Hi Dayne,

Good to see some of the positive replies, I am sure you must have seen the deployment guide for Exchange 2010 using iAPP on ver 11.x . There are synthetic monitors defined for Outlook anywhere, Active SYN, and Auto discovery. I followed the steps as it is mentioned in the deployment guide but none of these three synthetic monitors are working with me. Can you help in this matter. To me this deployment guide is more of a non working material in equal volume compare to the working ones.

    Regards,
  • Great information thanks for sharing. I can see the latest v11 code revision fixes a lot of the monitor issues with Exchange 2010, but this was really helpful to read through. Well done Dayne!
