How Serverside SSL works with no certificate

We are investigating implementation of serverside SSL. If I create the profile using all the defaults, will it work?   I understand that certs are about authentication as well as encryption but I...

The F5 acts as the clients for standard Server side SSL you do not need to assign a certificate.

 

If you were using Mutual Authentication or needed to provide a client certificate to your backend servers for some other reason then you would need to assign a certificate.
