You can also configure self IP addresses on the vCMP host to facilitate basic network connectivity tests
this is purely optional and not related to that SOL. In a vCMP setup with hosts and guests, you configure the VLANS and trunks at the vCMP Host, when you create a guest these are propogated configurations to the guest. In the guest itself, treat this otherwise as a bigip in its own right and configure floating and non-floating self IP addresses. You do not need to configure self IPs on the host for a guest to have network connectivity.
