iControl 10.0.1 API - WebAccelerator ProxyMessage Interface gone!?

Can somebody on the F5 Dev team please let me know what happened to the WebAccelerator ProxyMessage interface? The online SDK includes it (states it was included in V9). There is a perl invalidation script that calls this. I've tried using this with our 10.0.1 test instance and while I'm not getting an error response, the cache is also not getting invalidated.

I took a look at the Java source for iControl 10.0.1 that was included in the iControlAssembly download and the class files are not there.

This is leading me to believe that this feature has been removed from iControl and we have no means to send invalidation messages to WAM in v10.

Can somebody please confirm or deny this? I posted something to the iControl Assembly forum and about three weeks ago and have not gotten a response.

Thanks,

Jim Morgan

  • WebAccelerator.Applications, WebAccelerator.ProxyMessage, and WebAccelerator.Policies are all in v10.1. For some reason, the interfaces were in included in the last round of assembly builds. I'll work on getting a new build out with the included bits.

With that said, if you have a older build with them in there and it's not working, then you've likely found a bug that you'll have to get reported to support. I'll do my best to get the bits pushed out tomorrow and I'll reply to this thread when I do.

BTW, sorry for missing the post on the other forum, for some reason it didn't make it to my email monitoring filter.

  • Hi Joe,

Any updates on this? We need this to be able to put our new servers into production. I'd think of using an older version of assembly (at least for development and testing) but am not sure where to get one.

    Thanks,

  • Sorry Jim, I've been out on vacation the last week and a half. I'll do my best to get it posted later this week. I'll push for tomorrow but I can't promise anything. Most likely by Thursday.

  • Sorry for the delay. I've got the 10.2 version of the iControl assembly (source and binary) updated with the WebAccelerator.ProxyMessage interface methods. Let me know if this works for you.

  • Doh. Just realized you asked for the java build. I've posted the .NET builds of 10.2. I'll have to work on getting it incorporated into the java build. Might be another day till I can get something out for you...

  • Joe,

That's fine. I appreciate you jumping on this after your vacation. I won't have a chance to start coding until probably Tuesday of next week. I've got a couple of things to finish up before I jump back into this.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Joe,

Can you give me an update on what is happening with this? My management has been asking me for status. We were scheduled to try and have this done by the end of June and really want to get the new servers into our production environment.

    Thanks,

  • Sorry for the lack of update Jim. I replied to another thread and missed this one. I've update the iControl library for Java build for version 10.2 containing JDK 1.5 and 1.6 builds. The link to the downloads in the iControl Assembly labs project at:
