Simple monitor syntax

I'm trying to create a simple monitor for an https site and cannot figure out why it fails. Is the syntax in this Send String correct : GET /index.html HTTP/1.0. The index.html page should bring up an admin page with the word, Portal, on it, so I have Portal in the Receive String. Can someone give me advice regarding what is wrong or tips regarding how I can troubleshoot this?
