GW Tracking ( 2 default routes )

my external interface is bound to 2 vlans ( X & Y )

F5 device is conneted through a switch to 2 routers ( default GWs to internet )

 

i have 2 default routes one at X & one at Y , but if router X failed my F5 still use its route ( because it couldnot sense that as there is switch in between )

 

So , how to have 2 default route one backup for the other and at the same time track my GW IP

    how do you route traffic? are you using wildcard virtual server which directs traffic to pool containing two routers? if one is down, don't bigip send traffic to the other one?

    Yes , i route traffic using Vs-0.0.0.0/0 , i have pool of 2 members as my default GW

     

    the problem is how to make one of them as preferred & one as backup ( not to load balance to both )
