BIG-IP and more Get /redirect.asp - 302 in IIS logs?

We introduced a F5 BIG-IP-1000 V4.5 on May 20 to do our load balancing. The BIG-IP is inside our firewall and

connected to two 5.0 IIS servers, NT-13 and NT-14.

When we were running some monthly reports in Webtrend using our IIS logs for May and June, we noticed that some of the numbers were much lower. In our research, we noticed that the numbers dropped-off on the day we introduced our load balancer, F5-BIGIP. In looking at the IIS logs we noticed that the files were larger and the extranet logs had many more lines containing:

GET /redirect.asp – 302 –

And our intranet logs had many more lines containing:

GET /detect.asp – 302 –

These lines were found in the log files on both NT-13 & NT-14.

On NT14 in the extranet log file, ex050519.log, we found the following lines:

This was about the time the load balancer was introduced.

What do I need to do to get the visitor sessions and unique pages back up for Webtrend? IE... I need to get the same data in the IIS logfiles as before.

  • This is really a product related question. DevCentral is a developer sponsored community to assist with the development of iControl applications and iRules. This seems to be an issue with BIG-IP configuration and deployment so you'll have to go through the normal F5 Product Technical Support channel on this one.
