BIGIP memory

Hi,

I am trying to find out the total memory available on my BigIP 3400. The LCD screen shows 1 GB of memory but when i try free/top on the console, it shows only 220MB.

Here is the output of free command:

total used free shared buffers cached

220356 130900 89456 0 5168 98408

-/+ buffers/cache: 27324 193032

Swap: 2315760 8228 2307532

Thanks,

Kapil

  • don't trust the unix commands. Use:

    bigpipe memory show

The ask F5 website has a lot of these type questions documented in their solutions guides. I'd start there for questions like these, as this forum is for iRules/iControl questions.

We purposely keep a large amount of memory from the linux host OS therefore it doesn't show up in the standard unix/linux tools.
