Mkdisk utility - bootable usb thumb drive for all platforms ?

Hi,

I would like to have one bootable thumb drive with big-ip installation image for all supported hardware platforms. Unfortunately mkdisk utility asks about target platform, so I suppose that there are some differences between thumb drives content.

Is it possible to create "universal" thumb drive, suitable for all hardware platforms ?

BTW, mkdisk also displays Firepass platforms options. I dont't think that it's possible to use this thumb drive to install Firepass software, so what is the reason ? Is it possible to install LTM on 4100 platform for example?

  • Hi Marcin,

LTM can run on a 4100, but I'm not sure F5 licensing will allow it.

If you don't get an answer here, you could open a case with F5 Support to ask the thumbdrive questions.
