Is CMP compatible with Source Address in 10.1?

Hi,

I'm running 9.4.7 in my 6400 boxes and planning to upgrade to version 10, but I'm not sure yet if upgrading to 10.0.1 HF3 or 10.1.

One of the features I'm after is CMP, SOL7751 says that CMP is not compatible with any persistence profile other than cookie. Does anyone know if that is still true in version 10.1?

Most of my virtual servers have source address persistence and my CPU is above 80% most of the time, that's why I'm very interested in CMP, and that could be something very relevant in my decision.

Regards,

  • All persistence profiles are CMP compatible in v10+ so you should be fine either way. For other CMP related gotchas, check out the wiki:

  • If there isn't a compelling feature you're looking for in 10.1 I'd be leery of upgrading to a .0 version in an important live environment. I'd try to wait at least for 10.1.0HF1. 10.0.1HF4 was just released today, so you could wait a week or two and then install that for a fairly stable version. 9.4.8 with the latest hotfix would be the most stable option.

I think my best choice will be upgrading to 10.0.1 HF4 in 1 or 2 weeks and wait for 10.1.0 to become more stable.
