Are these IP addresses configured correctly?

I have two vlans only (dmz and ha). Here is how I have the IPs configured for HA and self-ips on the 2 node cluster.

Config sync address: F5 recommends the self-ip of the internal vlan, since I do not have that vlan, I use the self-ip of the dmz vlan. Is this ok? If needed I suppose I could create a internal vlan and just connect a cable between the two interfaces on the nodes to have that internal vlan. What would recommend?

Failover IP Address: I use the management and HA IP address. Why does it use the management as first then HA as secondary? I would think it would be best to have the monitoring of the heartbeat between the devices with the between them on the failover interface instead of traveling through the management vlan?

Mirroring IP Address: I use the self IP address of the HA vlan.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

  • We use our HA vlan for config sync and mirroring, and management and production (DMZ in your case) for failover. I'd recommend you move your config sync address to your HA vlan. Everything else looks good.
