Can I enable secure tunnel and PCoIP gateway in VMware View configuration for Intranet

According to F5 document for configure load balancing for intranet for VMware View Connection servers only. I need to deselect the "Use secure tunnel connection to desktop" and "Use PCoIP Secure Gateway for PCoIP connection to desktop".

 

However, our Security team prefer to enable both option for our internal VDI infra using VMware Horizon View v5.3.

 

So I would like to know if this possible? any limitation and rasional behind that we should disable both options.

 

Could anyone help ?

    Yes, this is absolutely possible and supported Typically Secure Gateway functionality is used for external access, but some companies choose to leverage it even for internal deployments to simplify and centralize network firewall rules management and enhance internal network security.

    Thanks for the prompt reply. Can I know why F5 document recommend to used direct client connect when implement View internal load balancing (connection servers only)?

     

    What are the benefit of doing it and what is the limitation if using secure gateway when configure F5 LTM load balancing?
